Tom and I were out running errands when Connie called to say the newest Chirri & Chirra book was waiting for me! So we raced over to Bookworks to pick it up, and then ate lunch OUTSIDE at the Flying Star by the fire. The weather app on our phones said 28 degrees. I don’t think it was really THAT cold. It was sunny and bright. But it was freezing if you weren’t by the fire.

Sweet Surprise

I couldn’t bring myself to recycle this section of the Sunday paper for days. The cover was too beautiful.

Often I’ll use pages from the paper for posters, placemats, wrapping paper, and doormats (!). But this was too wondrous to use even as a placemat. A week later, when the stack of newspapers, junk mail, and flyers reached the ceiling, I hauled everything out to the can. That’s when I stopped and opened the section up. Not being a baker, I hadn’t even peeked at the insides. WHOA! It was gorgeous 4-page poster, and the whole thing was printed on heavier and whiter paper than the rest of the Times. I love surprises like this.

I finally caved, and we used it as a table runner last night.

Thank you, Adriana Ramic, Krysten Chambrot, Kim Gougenheim, Alexa Weibel and Emily Weinstein for the beautiful design.

I loved this movie! And I loved Molly Ivins. My mom introduced me to her.
