This is what happens when I talk on the phone.
The Bagel Boys: Brian Carter, Peter Strindberg, Skip Henderson, Jack Kamesar, and Harry Cohen
One of the most fun opening parties in the history of FOG. 92-year-old Harry Cohen is showing nineteen Abstract Expressionist paintings, all painted from 2016 to the present.

The Birds in Their New Habitat
Finished. One Hundred and Eleven Illustrations.
I'm giddy with happiness. The picture above was the 111th illustration, and I finished it this morning. (This one isn't the last picture in the book––actually, it falls in Chapter 3.) All these illustrations are for my first chapter book called It's Not Easy Being Mimi, to be published Fall of 2018 by Beach Lane Books / Simon & Schuster.
My long list of illustrations. It was so much fun crossing them out one by one as I finished them. Two months ago I could not imagine getting through this list. Isn't all that pink highlighter glorious?
Happy Birthday, Cricket!
And remembering Susan O'Malley, whose work we love:

My bird paintings are migrating to Orlando, Florida. (Click on a painting if you would like to see it up close.)
Walking down the Great Highway at 7:16 pm. There were dozens of whales out there this evening! I know you don't believe me. But it's true!

Me and Sue and Tom and Bill. (Bill is Tom's bro, and Sue is Bill's wife.)
Cricket's Apothecary
The day Cricket moved in across the street was my lucky day. Not only does she make the best peanut butter cookies, but look what she brought over just now. She's taking a workshop in herbal elixirs, and I can't wait to make some fizzy drinks using these.
Work in Progress
I'll take this as a compliment.
